Thanksgiving in Winter Park, CO

For Thanksgiving this year I went with some college friends skiing in Winter Park, CO. I was able to see Shannon, Ross and the kids and we were able to go sledding. Here are some pics.

Kayden ready to watch, well actually sleep.

Kendal was a little cranky b/c she was hungry and she was crying everytime we went down.

Ross and Kendal walking back up to sled down.

I'm pushing Shannon and Kendal to help them get down the hill.

You can see Kendal actually had fun after she ate.

Shelley, Courtney, Jason, Jeannelle, Jared ready to hit the slopes on the first day. They didn't know what they were in for. A lot of entertainment!! I had no trouble at all getting speed to go down the slopes, but I did have some trouble slowing down and stopping. I busted a good 10 times or so. They were the kind of falls when other people would stop and ask if I was okay, but luckily I only have 4 bruises, and learned to stop without falling. I found a bumper sticker that fit me, "I'm the one ski patrol warned you about!" and "Ski fast, take chances!"

Karen trying to carry all of the gear, she hit Jeannelle in the head trying to look at a dead mole.

We took the resort shuttle to town, to a local bar.

Here we were waiting on Ms. Karen. It took her over an hour to make it down this slope. It was rough for the first time skiiers (like me). I did make it faster than she did, although I had some falls.

This is the view of the Village (the shopping and eating area) from the lift.

Here is Courtney and Karen trying to get ready to take a picture. If you look closely to the background, I'm also back there trying to get steady.

Still trying to get ready for a picture.

Finally ready

Courtney, Jason, Me ready to ski!

After I got a little better, I took a video of skiing down. You can see I got a little wobbly on the turn while holding the camera so I turned it off.

Ready to hit the tub!

Hot tubbin' !!

Our skiis were the only ones left after we went to the Derailer Bar.

Here is a picture of the little ski school kids, they were really cute, with their skiis, this particular group called "Wipeout" when they fell over so the instructor knew when someone needed help

Here is Ms. Karen fetching her ski pole that she dropped from the lift.

Here's a video of her getting her pole.

Here we are at the highest lift (that was open), it was called the Mary Jane at 11,200 ft.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Doc's Roadhouse, a restaurant at the resort, they had turkey, porkloin, dressing, green bean casserole and all the other good food you eat for Thanksgiving it was sooooo good!
